Kernalite vs a spreadsheet.
Sheets is free, it bends to any process, and every investor understands it. It is the right tool for your first ten leads. This page is about lead eleven, the first text you forget to send, and the day you hire someone.
Side by side
The four moments a sheet stops being enough
- The forgotten follow-up. A seller said "call me in March". The sheet knows. Nobody reads the sheet in March. A workflow calls, texts, and makes the task.
- The text that is not on the row. Every conversation lives on a phone that is not the sheet. When you hand the lead to someone else, the history does not come with it.
- The first driver. Driving for dollars in a sheet is a photo on your phone and an address typed later. The app makes the tap the lead.
- The second person. Two people in one sheet is one overwritten cell a day and no record of who changed what.
Keep the sheet when
- You have under ten live leads and you are the only person
- You do not text sellers from a business number
- You are not driving for dollars yet
- You have missed a follow-up you had written down
- You have said "let me find that text" on a call
- Someone else now touches the leads
The middle path
Run the trial with your sheet imported. If the sheet is still open in a month, we were wrong for you and it cost nothing.
Questions we get
Can I import my spreadsheet?
Yes. Contacts → Import CSV and Lead Lists take a CSV export; you map the columns on the next screen and the import reports what it added and skipped.
Can I get it back out?
Everything exports to CSV from the app at any time. If you leave, you leave with the file.
Can I keep my own columns?
Custom fields on leads and contacts, and saved views that filter on them. The pipeline stages are yours to rename.
Is $99 a month worth it for one person?
If one deal a year comes from a follow-up you would otherwise have missed, yes. If you are under ten leads and not texting from a business number, keep the sheet; we say so above.
Import the sheet and find out.
Thirty days, the whole product, nothing on file. The sheet stays where it is either way.
