SMS Messaging Consent
How Kernalite uses SMS
Enroll your phone for security messages
SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) is optional. You can create, secure, and fully use your Kernalite account without it — by using an authenticator app (TOTP) or email instead. If you prefer SMS, Kernalite sends 2FA codes and account security alerts to your mobile phone. Enrolling requires no purchase, and declining SMS does not limit your access to any product feature. Enter your number and confirm consent below.
Program description
The Kernalite SMS program sends transactional, user-triggered messages only: one-time passcodes (2FA security codes) and account security alerts such as sign-in from a new device. No marketing or promotional messages are sent through this program.
SMS is never required to use Kernalite. SMS 2FA is one of several optional authentication methods. Account creation, login, and every product feature work without providing a mobile number — users may instead use an authenticator app (TOTP) or email. Consent to SMS is not a condition of any purchase, registration, or service.
How you opt in
You consent by entering your mobile number and checking the consent box above, on the Kernalite account registration page, or when enabling two-factor authentication in your account settings. The consent box is unchecked by default and is separate from the general Terms of Service acceptance. We log each consent with a timestamp and IP address.
Message types & frequency
- 2FA codes — sent when you log in or enable two-factor authentication.
- Account alerts — sent on security events (e.g., new-device sign-in).
Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message & data rates may apply.
How to opt out (STOP)
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe. Opting out of SMS only stops the text messages; your account stays fully active and you can keep using two-factor authentication via an authenticator app (TOTP) or email.
